University – Private Sector Partnership

Busitema University is seeking strategic partnerships with the Private Sector in the development of the institution.  The University’s focal issues are access to education, human resource development, technology and innovation, infrastructure and responsive developed citizenship.

Private Sector is constantly seeking well qualified individuals.  By Private sector supporting academic programmes at the University with up-to-date and relevant resources through their corporate philanthropy programmes, they will enable the institution to produce a steady stream of employable and productive graduates.  There will also be social benefits of the job opportunities that well facilitated academic programmes provide to graduates.  It should be noted that the graduates will not only be benefiting private sector but also public institutions.

Busitema University will ensure some economic benefits to the companies.  Besides the benefits accruing from having well qualified   workforce, the university plans to explore ways of assuring combined benefits of both the institution and Private Sector.  Further, the University would wish to enter into pure business arrangements with private companies.

The University is in the process of developing an access academic programme so as to give disadvantaged students who do not qualify for admission right away a chance to study, with particular focus on girls/young women and rural based young men.  A scholarship fund for the purpose, in partnership with Private Sector, is planned.
