Application Procedures for Diplomas

a) Admission to the Diploma in Agricultural Engineering course shall be done in accordance to the University regulations and procedures and through three avenues:

1. Direct Entry
2. Certificate Entry Scheme

At least one Principal Pass in either Physics or Mathematics and a Subsidiary pass in any of the two obtained at the same sitting of the Advanced Level Examinations or its equivalent. The weighting system shall be as follows:

Weight	Subject
3	One better done of Physics, Mathematics or Technical Drawing.
2	The next better done of Physics, Mathematics or Technical Drawing.
1	General Paper, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Chemistry, Geography.
0.5	Any other subject.

Direct Entry

For direct entry scheme, a candidate must have obtained:

1. UACE or its equivalent
2. And at least one A-Level principle passes in physics or mathematics obtained at the same sitting.

In addition candidates must have passed Biology or Agriculture with at least a pass at Ordinary Uganda Certificate of Education Examination.

Certificate Entry Scheme

Applicants holding Technician Certificate or its equivalent can be admitted to the course. The applicant should have obtained at least a credit performance in Mathematics.
