Counseling and Guidance

This office has been established to give attention and comfort to students who have social, psychological and academic challenges.  A number of reading materials have been gathered for students to access information on several issues.

The University offers counseling and guidance services to students and staff.  The Counseling and Guidance office is open on Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

“We appreciate that something is wrong in our students’ world and we always want to understand and help them”.  To do this, we set time aside to spend with them to look at their needs one-to-one.  They are worth that attention.

We help them to explore their feelings and thoughts in order to realize their potential in making informed decisions and choices that are non-regrettable.

We offer support at times of crisis to help them work through ‘stuck issues”.

Below is the mention of the few issues on which we focus:

  • Sexual and reproductive health-related issues
  • Love relationship related challenges
  • Academic concerns – Academic malpractices due to declining morals and ethical standards, examination fears that result into anxiety disorders.
  • Habits like alcoholism, drug addictions etc.
  • Interaction-related challenges e.g intolerance that may lead to conflict
  • Phobic disorders - Fears of situations that may not necessarily present real danger.
