Application Procedures for Bachelors

a) The Bachelor of Agricultural Mechanization and Irrigation programme will be open to:

  1. A-Level candidates or its equivalent
  2. Holders of a diploma in Agricultural Mechanisation, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.

Admission to the course is through three avenues

  1. Direct Entry
  2. Diploma Entry Scheme

Direct Entry

For direct entry scheme, a candidate must have obtained:

  1. UCE or its equivalent
  2. and at least two A-Level principle passes in physics and mathematics obtained at same sitting.

In addition candidates must have passed Biology or Agriculture with at least a credit at Ordinary Uganda Certificate of Education Examination.
                       
For purposes of computing entry points, the Advanced Level subjects shall be grouped and weighted as follows:

Diploma Entry Scheme

Applicants holding Ordinary Technician Diploma or its equivalent can be admitted to the course.  The applicant should have obtained at least a Credit or Class II diploma with at least a credit performance in Mathematics.

b) Admission to Bachelor of Computer Engineering is through any one of


    the  following avenues:

  • Direct Entry Scheme
  • Diploma Holders Scheme

 

The Direct Entry Scheme

For the direct entry scheme, an applicant must obtain two advanced level passes in Mathematics and in physics, at the same sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or its Equivalent. The advanced level subjects shall carry the following weights which shall always be used to compute the entry points:

Diploma Holders Scheme

Diploma entry scheme is available for holders of at least second class (lower division) Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, traditional Engineering Disciplines, or any other diploma that has both Mathematics and Physics as core components, from a recognized Institution. Consideration shall be given to transferring some of the credits earned at the diploma level.

c) An applicant for admission into the Bachelor of Science Education programme will qualify under either of the following requirements

Direct entry:

The applicant must obtain two principal passes in any two of Mathematics,
Physics and Computer studies at advanced. For purposes of computing
Weighted points, the advanced level subjects shall be grouped and
Weighted as follows:

Diploma holders: 

Applicants with a credit diploma in science based subjects with a bias in Physics,
Mathematics or Computer studies from a recognised institution shall be confident
for admission.
