Management and Governance
The University is governed by a number of organs as set out in the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act 2003.
University Council
The University Council is the Supreme organ of the University. The Council functions through three committees: Planning and Investment Committee, Finance Committee and Appointments board. The general functions of the boards are:
The Finance Committee oversees the financial administration of the University, including the presentation of the annual budget.
The Planning and Investment Committee oversees the strategic planning, the acquisition and disposition of real property, and the raising of funds for the University.
The Appointment Board oversees the personnel policy of the University and shall establish positions on the staff and approve appointments to the staff.
Senate is responsible for the organization, control and direction of academic matters of the University and as such shall be in charge of the teaching, research, and the general standards and assessment of the University.
